Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Birge & Fuller, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Airside application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google's authentication service.
- Flight data. We store the flights you choose to save and track, including flight identifiers, departure and arrival airports, and schedule information retrieved from aviation data providers.
- Device and notification tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store a device token that allows us to deliver alerts to your device. Your delay-alert thresholds are stored with your account settings.
- Usage data. We log aggregated, anonymized usage metrics (such as API call counts and costs) to operate and improve the Service. We do not build behavioral profiles for advertising purposes.
- Log data. Our servers automatically record standard log information, including your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, for security and diagnostic purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate your identity and maintain your account;
- Retrieve and display real-time and scheduled flight information on your behalf;
- Send push notifications for flight events (delays, gate changes, arrivals) that you have opted into;
- Monitor Service reliability, diagnose technical issues, and prevent abuse;
- Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on the following third-party providers. Each operates under its own privacy terms.
- Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database (Firestore), and hosting. Firebase Privacy.
- FlightAware (AeroAPI) — scheduled and live flight data.
- FlightRadar24 — real-time aircraft position data.
- OpenSky Network — supplemental aircraft position data.
- Open-Meteo — airport surface weather conditions.
- Aviation Weather Center (AWC) / NOAA — turbulence forecasts, PIREPs, SIGMETs, and NEXRAD radar imagery.
We access these services on your behalf; your personal account information is not shared with these providers beyond what is technically necessary to authenticate our server-to-server requests.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and saved flight data for as long as your account is active. Aggregated usage logs are retained for up to 13 months for billing and abuse-prevention purposes. Device push tokens are removed when you sign out or revoke notification permissions.
Requesting deletion. You may request deletion of your flight tracking data, or of your entire account and all associated data, at any time by emailing support@airsideapp.com. Tell us in your message whether you want only your saved flight tracking data removed or your full account deleted. We will honor your request within 48 hours of receipt.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including TLS in transit and Firebase Security Rules for data access control. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@airsideapp.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
You may opt out of push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings or within the Airside Settings panel.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
